Book Lovers Open Mic
On the last Thursday of the month, we invite writers of all genres — poetry, prose, and nonfiction — to take the stage and share their work.
Not quite ready to read or just want to listen? Come cheer on the local literary talent!
Want to read your work? Arrive early and get your name on the list! Our wonderful host will be there to guide you.
Seating is limited so come at least 15 minutes early to get settled and secure a seat and/or reading slot.
Readings begin at 7:30 p.m.
There will be a 10-minute intermission halfway through, perfect for schmoozing or ingesting some liquid courage. Wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be available.
The audience will vote on their favourite piece and the winner will win a little prize!

About Us
Kim
Ever since Kim was a little girl, reading has been a constant comfort and refuge. As an only child of two busy working parents, she practically lived at the library. She’s been a “book dragon” ever since and is a proud owner of a rather substantial collection of her own.
Running a bookstore has been her lifelong dream. When the opportunity arose to take the reigns of Book Lovers Valencia, it came at just the right time, and she decided to take the plunge and make it happen.
Oriana
Oriana brings a decade of experience in the publishing industry focused in marketing & communications. She’s also a writer (specializing in creative nonfiction), and has a writing degree from the University of Victoria.
Oriana has joined Kim (her mom) to help run the shop, and manages Book Lovers Valencia’s online presence.
The Bookstore
Book Lovers Valencia is an independent English-language bookstore located in the Ruzafa neighbourhood of Valencia, Spain. It was established in 2022 by a devoted husband-and-wife duo.
Kim and Oriana are continuing Book Lovers’ legacy, offering carefully curated books in English to the Valencia community as well as events for writers, readers, and all book lovers.
